SUMMARY:Violinist for SUFFS at Hormel Theatre
DESCRIPTION:SUFFS\n \n\n\nHormel Theatre\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober 14\, 2026 –\n\n\n\n\n\nNovember 29\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n2 hours and 20 Minutes including one 15 minute intermission\n\nBuy Tickets!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Show\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscover the story of the tenacious women who rallied for their belief that women deserved the right to vote in the Tony Award winning musical\, Suffs. From suffragist icons like Alice Paul\, Carrie Chapman Catt and Inez Milholland to the young activists who carried the movement forward\, Suffs brings one of history’s most important battles to life through a bold\, contemporary book and score written by Shaina Taub. This interpretation of America’s history does not shy away from exploring the real issues these women faced while freedom fighting in the early twentieth century\, instead embraces the struggles to create an incredible tribute to everyone who didn’t give up\, no matter how hard it was.   \n  \nSUFFS is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com

Recent recital appearances include concerts with flutist María Fernanda Castillo at the University of Michigan\, tubist Charlie Goodman at Louisiana State University\, and multiple performances partnering with oboe\, bassoon\, and English horn in various combinations at the International Double Reed Society Midsouth Regional Symposium. He particularly enjoys playing continuo on the harpsichord or fortepiano for opera; this summer\, he could be heard on the fortepiano for performances of Rossini’s La Cenerentola at Wolf Trap. \n \nRea Drewett started her musical journey on piano at 3\, winning several local competitions in Louisiana and Arizona\, before turning to the cello. She began playing in youth orchestras in 2014\, performing with the Metropolitan\, Phoenix\, and Southwest youth symphonies before graduating from Arcadia High School in 1923. She recently developed a multimedia project called “the rhythm of life\,” combining film\, spoken word\, and improvisation in a single performative experience. With a few avant-garde collaborations under her belt\, she hopes to continue making thought-provoking projects. \n \nDaniel Yang has been recognized for his expressive musicianship and versatility as a soloist\, chamber musician\, and collaborative artist. A first-prize winner of the NTHU Concerto Competition\, he has appeared as a soloist with MusicaNova Orchestra and Orchestra of Northern Arizona\, and has performed major concerto repertoire including the Brahms Double Concerto at Katzin Concert Hall and Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1 with the NTHU Orchestra. As a dedicated educator\, Daniel maintains a private studio with students actively participating in ensembles such as the Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Originally from Taiwan\, his artistic work is further informed by his research on contemporary Taiwanese violin repertoire.
